March Update #2

Dear Friends,

We are committed to continuing to provide an outstanding camp experience at Big Spring, High Trails and Sanborn Junior during the summer of 2020, as we have for 71 consecutive years. Our leadership team and Board of Trustees are meeting regularly to monitor the emerging situation and adapt as needed. We don’t want to flood your inboxes but we will certainly update you as new information emerges throughout the next few weeks.

We have had very few cancellations related to the Coronavirus and anticipate that there will be more clarity in the coming weeks. Our cancellation policy states that for cancellations received before May 15 for the First Term and June 15 for the Second Term, we will refund all tuition paid, less the deposit. Since there is no difference in the refund you would receive today and the refund you would receive in mid-May or mid-June, there is not a financial reason to make an early decision. Although we normally send tuition invoices on April 1st, we will delay sending them until we know more. No cards on file will be charged without your authorization.

We realize that with the health-care system in overload right now, it may not be possible to get your child’s immunization, physical exam and other physician-signed forms in by our May 1 deadline. We would appreciate it if you can complete and submit the parent-signed forms, including your camper’s Health History and Authorization to Treat forms by May 1st, if possible.

Our campers, camp families, and alums are our valued friends and we feel tremendous loyalty to each of you. We always strive to do the right thing, including during this unprecedented situation we all are dealing with. We know that our new reality is challenging for everyone and we want to help in any way we can. You might want to join our Facebook and Instagram groups where we are posting activities and fun things to do with children who are home from school.

And, of course, we are always happy to talk with you individually about any questions or concerns you might have.

Sincerely, Mike
